tonight, the heartaches on me.

i've been listening to the dixie chicks a lot this last week. don't know how i ever stopped listening to them...
but last night was even better....not because i was listening to the dixie chicks but because i was WATCHING MUMFORD AND SONS.... for the sixth time, live, in stornoway, in the lanntair, with all the people i love... it was just amazing. the atmosphere wasn't as good as it usually is but that didn't stop them from being so so so good at what they do best. their new songs were great and there is one i keep thinking about. i can't find it on youtube though.

then today, today i woke up, went to see how radio star was feelin' as she was a tinsy bit blazing last night! she was no bad though, kevin was still drunk and lisa was sleepy. they're so funny. helen picked me up about 2.45 ish and we made our way to tolsta to see cute wee baby Hope Campbell. what a cutie. think she was pretty shy at first but she soon realised how awesome we were and had a great time! love that little baba. 

...and I know you have a heavy heart; I can feel it when we kiss.

today it was a beautiful day. went for a walk with callie, maimie, and the twins. lovely sunday!

the joy and pain makes us who we are.

Tonight was a good night, i went up to the golf club to see our small capital play at some charity night. didn't stay very long as i was shattered after a hard day painting!! took Maimie and Orlaith to the soft play this afternoon for a wee while, then we went up to my wee housey and painted some canvases. they were beautiful. take a look.

My boy finally got the internet in his house today, months and months after moving in.
I haven't been doing much really, had a lovely christmas/new year, etc.
Hope all 7 of you followers did too. :-)
Went to the Harris Tweed mill yesterday to choose my tweed for the coat Ali and Helen are getting made for my birthday. It's going to be beautiful.... i can feel it.

that's a laura marling lyric. i've barely been to england but i do love scotland when it's covered in snow. =) driving in it is awful though, i do not recomend.

This is quite an old photo. It's from the small festival Loopallu in 2009. I took this photo for the Stornoway Gazette and the Island eye. The tent itself i found was very dark and hard to get a good shot with all the horrible lighting etc. I still quite like this shot. Maybe i shouldn't, haha.

I'm at work today. I know, I know, at work on a Sunday. What would my nana say!! Well I am tired, hungry, and a mess! just get that image in your heads. Writing this is the only thing keeping me awake just now. Things are so boring at work on a Sunday. Although i should be grateful there's not 60 calls in the queue.

Let's get old old fashioned, do it like they did in '43.

I went to Harris the other day to collect some lenses from my amazing friend Aonghas. He had borrowed them to take photos at his friends wedding. Needless to say the photographs were beautiful. I'm very jealous at how talented he is. ...Anyway, i gave him some film from my spinner 360 to scan and put on the computer to email me. He's got a special negative scanner to do this. I've only got three back so far but i'm so happy with how they've turned out. Here's one photo from it. It was taken in ness by my little cousin Catriona. She's aged ten. This camera is pretty amazing. I'm very glad i invested in it.

Fat girl won't you take me back

Today i've been very lazy &it's been great. The weather, however is not so great so my plans to go for a nice walk with helen & use my new camera (360 lomo) and also my new 50mm lens changed slightly. Instead we decided to tour Point. I love the feeling you get when it's all wet and wild outside, but you're at home or in the car nice and warm with the heater on full blast and Astrid playing nice and loud.
Here's a random shot i took last week with the 50mm. It's not very good or interesting.
I hope the weather gets better and i get to use it properly this week.

Today i received a 360 spinner. I can't wait to use my new lomo! Think i'll take it to the Woodland Centre tomorrow to test it out.
